Stalactiform, 2006
In collaboration with Matthew Harrison, Stalactiform was produced using Fused deposition modelling, which is often referred to by its initials FDM, is a type of rapid prototyping or rapid manufacturing (RP) technology commonly used within engineering design. Its shape is the word Stalactiform swept through 360 ° to produce a three-dimensional extrapolation of flat text.
To accompany Stalactiform, a CD was also produced in an edition of 10.
The CD contains a CAD model of Stalactiform in the format of an .stl file.
The owner of the CD is entitled to print an unlimited number of the artwork: Stalactiform.
The work exists somewhere between the CD holding the Stalactiform‘s computer modeled data
and the solid free-formed object: Stalactiform.
